Ibanez has been a name to be reckoned with in the world of guitars and basses for decades, always at the forefront of developing the right tools for players pushing the boundaries of music. Ibanez designers and luthiers have been the embodiment of this ideology, pushing their skills to the edge of imagination, consistently creating some of the most dynamic instruments ever. The ‘S’ series (Saber series) was introduced in 1987 and at over 30 years old is one of the longest running series in the Ibanez range, along with the RG and JEM series’, both of which also first appeared in 1987. The S series guitars can be distinguished by their sleek body shape with comfortably contoured top and back. The S521 features a mahogany body bolted to a maple Wizard III neck with a 24-fret rosewood fingerboard with offset dot position markers. Components include dual Ibanez Quantum humbucking pickus and a fixed bridge. For 2018 the rosewood fretboard has been replaced by jatoba.
