Created between 2020 and 2023, the album includes twelve pieces that explore recurring harmonic themes through varied instrumentation, including voice and brass performed by Macadam Ensemble and Anima Brass. Malone's compositions blend the mechanical precision of organ music with the expressive qualities of choir and brass, adding lyricism and human fallibility to her work. The album also showcases the powerful, spectral sound of organs dating from the 15th to 17th centuries, with additional accompaniment by Stephen O’Malley. "All Life Long" offers a complex and immersive listening experience that highlights the interplay between familiar motifs and new interpretations.
