EVH Limited Ed 79 Bumblebee Electric Guitar, Black w/Yellow Stripes
(Incl. Taxes & Shipping Cost)
Eddie Van Halen's iconic black and yellow striped Strat® guitar made its official debut on the cover of Van Halen II's 1979 album, "Bumblebee," which became widely known to fans and was played frequently throughout Van Halen's 1979 world tour.
Forty years later, EVH® recreates the world-famous instrument in the form of the ’79 Bumblebee. Limited to just 50 worldwide, this tribute model features all the original specifications such as an ash Strat® body, bolt-on birdseye maple neck with an oiled back finish, a straight 12” radius birdseye maple fingerboard with 21 jumbo frets, katalox dots and black side dots, and a Strat-style “Tone” volume knob.
Following Eddie's pickup recipe, the instrument is equipped with an EVH '79 Bumblebee humbucking bridge pickup. EVH also matched the Bumblebee's six screw holes, hidden beneath a prototype oscillator non-fine tuner locking tremolo bridge rebuilt by EVH specifically for this project, as well as the original proto locking nut. All hardware has been faithful to the classic version, including custom brass string retainers, screw-eye strap hooks, Schaller® tuning machines, and side output jack.
The black paint with yellow stripes is also matched to years of touring wear, and the hardware is finished in chrome. Adding to the instrument's once-in-a-lifetime value and collectible character, Eddie Van Halen signed the back of the entire headstock.
Coming with a custom Anvil® hardshell case, the package also includes '70s-era Fender Super Bullets strings, a Van Halen '70s tortoiseshell pick, an exclusive collectible Bumblebee booklet, the Young Guitar Van Halen Live Tour in Japan 1978 & 1979 book and several signed products such as a certificate of authenticity, an 8”x10” 1979 Eddie Van Halen concert photo and a vinyl copy of Van Halen II.
